Good morning!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Science

We conducted our final weather experiment on Friday by observing bubbles on the wind.  It was lots of fun!

Writing

Composing engaging leads for personal narratives has been our focus in writing this week.  Students are composing fine stories about the small moments in their lives.

Monday Memo 10/22/18

Good morning!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Book Fair

Our class will visit the Book Fair on Wednesday!  You can send cash in an envelope with your child's name on it if you wish.  Some people prefer to shop with your child, either before or after school during the week, or during the Happy Hollow Movie Night on Friday.  Either way, your child will enjoy browsing with his classmates.

Field Trip

Thank you so much to our wonderful chaperones Kelley Bradford, Zach Blocker, and Albie Bargoot for volunteering their time last week on our field trip.  What a great day we had!

Veggie Skeletons

Our fabulous room parents Kelley Bradford and Anne Lyons will be contacting you to send in a cut-up vegetable for our Annual October 31st Veggie Skeleton project.  Thanks in advance for your contributions.

Parent Homework

I believe I sent the Top Secret Parent Homework to everyone whom I already conferred with.  Please send in whenever you are finished.  Click here if you need another copy.

Have a great week!

Field Trip Tuesday, October 16

We are excited for our field trip next Tuesday. Thank you so much to everyone who
volunteered to chaperone. Our chaperones will be:
1. Albie Bargoot
2. Zach Blocker
3. Kelley Bradford

Math

The children performed very well on our first unit assessment on Number Combinations.
I will share your child's result at our conference. Place value is our new unit of study.  Please
let me know if you would like to be a Math Station Helper. Check out this link for more
information.

Science

It's getting hot in here! Did you see the thermometer your child made? Ms. Natale taught
all about temperature, and the class made thermometer models. We are also discovering
how the water cycle affects weather, and we did an experiment with ice in a plastic bag.

Students raise and lower the "mercury" to find the correct temperature.

Our Writer's Notebooks have finally arrived, and students did a beautiful job collaging
