Monday Memo
It was so wonderful to see so many of you at our Open House and the Happy Hollow Picnic. I am so pleased and proud of your child and all of their amazing work, especially Humphreyville. Thank you for celebrating our wonderful second grade year together. It was also a delightful celebration of Mr. Lee, and I will always remember that special night.
Wednesday, June 12: Field Day-Second Grade Wears Yellow
This week we are sharing talents. We had an Irish step dance performance, a reading of a series of tongue twisters, and a student who can walk on her hands! Your child can share any talent choose.
We are having a wonderful last week together. As we enter the homestretch of the 2018-2019 school year, I just wanted to reach out and say that it has been such a pleasure working with each one of your kids! It has been a great year, and they have all grown so much. They are ready for 3rd grade! If you have any questions as the year comes to a close, please let me know. Also, if any questions come up over the summer, feel free to email me then too. Your kids have a lot to celebrate. Thank you for all your support and help to make this year such a success.

Butterfly Release Ceremony
We went out into the pretty grassy area outside the school and bade a fond farewell to our butterflies. We sat in a circle and sang songs from our Poetry Notebook for them, and one by one they took flight. Except one. One of the astute butterfly observers in our class said that the butterfly that declined to exit the pavillion had a broken wing that occured when another butterfly flew into it a few days ago. So we now have one butterfly left!
Wood
Thank you so much to the Bargoots and the Ryans for getting us the wood for our community project. You guys are the best!
No Homework
There will be no more regular homework. But please make sure your child is reading for 20 minutes every night!
